The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater | Review
The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is by far one of our favorite table service restaurants at Disney's Hollywood Studios. More than anything, we love the ambiance with the drive-in set up and monster movie highlight reel playing while you wait for the food to arrive. The last time that we went, the hostess was handing out little bags of popcorn to each guest in the lobby which was a fun touch.
Almost every time we go, I end up ordering a burger. They have a seasonal burger that changes every so often and two other burgers that always stay on the menu. While the price is definitely higher than a counter service burger, I feel that the ambiance more than makes up for the price difference. It's a nice break from the Florida heat and the typical cafeteria style tables that occupy counter service restaurants at Disney's Hollywood Studios (which end up getting pretty loud!)
Compared to other table service restaurants at Disney's Hollywood Studios, the average price points at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater are less than all of the other options - another reason why the ends up being our go-to spot.
Securing an Advanced Dining Reservation (ADR) for the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater has been very hit or miss. With only two people in our party, I'm usually able to get last minute ADRs at most restaurants and this one is no exception. Depending on the size of your party and whether you are eating during a weeknight vs. weekend, you will most likely need to check for an ADR earlier than the day of.
No trip to the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is complete without ending the meal with a milkshake! I went for chocolate and Max had the seasonal shake which was Strawberry. Cookies'n'Cream, Chocolate and Vanilla are always available on the menu and the seasonal milkshake changes from time to time. Once it was a S'mores milkshake and that was probably the best one yet (and I secretly wish that it was always available!)
